The Story

After the family father Josef realizes that the cost of the last potentially helpful method of treatment for his eight-year-old cancer ill daughter won't be covered by their health insurance, he tries to retrieve the life-saving medicine secretly from his workplace at a psychiatric hospital. But Josef doesn't seem to quite grasp how meaningless his ambition is.

The musical idea

How can hope, sadness, despair and fatherhood sound? That was my big task on this project. I teamed up with Maximilian Zinke and we tried to find a sound that described both the bitterness and the glimmer of hope that Josef has.

The sound of the 'Una Corda' was our choice because it has the multiple possibilities of the piano, but it also has this muted glow because of the felt.
