The Story
Friends For Life - Everyone can save lives. (dir. Jona Schloßer) | For many of us, a first aid course as part of the driving test is the only point of contact with the training of first aid skills - and this is by no means enough. "friends for life" tells - based on a true experience of one of the extras in the film - the tragic story of a friendship that could have been saved by first aid skills.
The musical idea
What does friendship sound like? And how does it sound when it is on the brink of disaster? I asked myself these questions before setting Friends for life to music. Jonah wanted to have a harp as a recurring element, because it can convey tempo and at the same time also have a fragile sound.
Ultimately, I didn't want the music to be bigger than the images themselves, so I chose a fairly small instrumentation. Nevertheless, certain points in the plot should be hit, where the music winds up a bit and thus underlines the initial joy, euphoria - and then towards the end rather carries the tragedy.
