The Story
A successful young man, who wants to leave everything from his previous life behind, decides to join a monastic order. In order to be able to live only for God in the future, he gives up all his earthly possessions. But he only almost succeeds - because he simply can't and won't give up the key to his Porsche and hides it in his living room.
Plagued by feelings of guilt, he wants to finally get rid of it that night, but the key was taken from its hiding place. Because of rising feelings of guilt, he nevertheless goes to confession in the church of the monastery and confesses his sin to the priest, who laughs to himself on the other side of the confessional.
The musical idea
Already the plot shows us that the situation is a rather exaggerated one. Even though the love for the Porsche may seem huge, this divine worship is of course exceedingly rare. Nevertheless, it was the perfect opportunity to also musically tell this joke and so I decided to choose a Gregorian chant, since the setting is also close to the church. The nightmare that the car key has been lost ends musically in the climax, so that the change between reality and dream also becomes clear. At the end, the musical perspective changes and shows the cunning of the priest, who takes advantage of the situation and grabs the Porsche. It is, after all, a Guilty Pleasure.
